The Dynamo Need YOU

From: The Texian Army

Date: March 9, 2010

Fellow Dynamo Fans and Supporters,

Over the past four years, we've experienced a lot together. We've witnessed the frustratingly slow process of trying to build a stadium. We've felt our hearts drop as we faced the agony of defeat at the hands of lesser opponents. We've also raised our hands in glory as our adored Dynamo hoisted two MLS Cups and established Robertson Stadium as one of the most feared places in the league for opponents to play.

Regardless of the outcome, one thing has always remained constant: our undying love for the Dynamo. That love has fueled the Texian Army's support these past four years: Dozens of flags, hundreds of yards of painted fabric, thousands of balloons - We drum, we jump, we sing.

But the Texian Army knows that they aren't the Dynamo's only passionate fans. We're all in this together. We all want to see the Dynamo beat the crap out of FC Dallas and we know the men in Orange play their best ball when they are well supported. So to that end, we'd like to invite you and all Dynamo fans to join us on a bus trip to Pizza Hut Park on March 27 for the MLS season opener.

An Unforgettable Experience

One of our callings as supporters is to back the Dynamo when they're away from home. Few things in life are more gratifying than going into a hostile environment, uniting with brothers and sisters in orange, and supporting the Dynamo - win or lose. It is an experience that you never forget. And our players and coaches notice.

You can see it in the players' faces when they walk over to thank the traveling supporters after the final whistle. You realize that they knew you were there the whole game. They see and appreciate that you sacrificed your limited time and hard earned money to support them.

It is one of those moments when you feel an incredible connection to something bigger than yourself. You realize that it's a feeling that the most die-hard Texans, Astros, and Rockets fans will never experience.

The Most Affordable Way To Get To The Season Opener

Let's do a little cost estimation if you were to drive. Say your car gets 25 miles per gallon and gas costs $2.66 per gallon. Pizza Hut Park is 269 miles from Houston and we'll assume single game tickets will cost $20 at the gate.

  • 269 miles x 2 = 538 miles roundtrip
  • 538 miles / 25 miles per gallon = 21.52 gallons of gas
  • 21.52 gallons x $2.66 per gallon = $57.24 total gas cost
  • $57.24 gas cost + $20 game ticket = $77.24 total expense
  • OR...

For only $60 you can sit back, make some new friends, and support the Dynamo when they need you most - on the road.  You save 22% by letting us take care of your transportation and ticket.

Meet Other Dynamo Fans Like You

I bet your friends and people at work think you're a little nutty for being a die-hard Dynamo fan. They casually ask you how the Dynamo are doing to make small talk. They don't really care. But they know you do.

You resist the urge to get wide-eyed and answer "Awesome! On Saturday night, Brad Davis whipped in a nasty in-swinging corner and Cameron finished brilliantly on the header!!!" But you know this would be met with blank stares. So you contain your excitement because you have no one to share it with.

You are not alone.  On this trip you'll have plenty of time to meet and mingle with Dynamo fans just like you.  Network, talk Dynamo ball, and make some new friends on the bus during the trip up to Frisco. You'll be surrounded by good people who have the same passion for the Dynamo that you do.

Testimonial On Last Year's Trip

Jen Cooper

"The comfort of a charter bus and the convenience of not driving to the hellhole that is north of Dallas was topped only by the camaraderie of hanging out with 100+ other passionate Dynamo fans. And the price was a bargain!"

News: There Will Be No Strike!

Major League Soccer and the Players Union have signed a five-year collective bargaining agreement ending the possibility of a strike. That means there's no risk of getting fired up about the trip and then the game getting cancelled. THE GAME IS ON.

Rules

Conduct

Do not antagonize other fans or supporters. Don't mess with Pizza Hut Park security or Police. They don't play. If you are arrested at Pizza Hut Park, you will be responsible for your bail and finding a ride home. Absolutely no violence, negativity, or drama.

Section

The first couple rows of our section are reserved for active supporters who will be standing, jumping, singing, etc. Texian Army would love for you and invites you to be a part of this experience. However, we understand and respect that not everyone enjoys participating in this stuff. If you would prefer to sit and quietly enjoy the game, please do so a few rows up.

No Drinking On The Fan Bus

Our charter bus company has told us they are not allowing drinking on the fan bus(es). You may stow coolers in the luggage area beneath the bus and tailgate when we arrive at Pizza Hut Park. If you want to drink on the bus during future trips, join Texian Army.

Ride Home

We encourage a relaxed, quiet ride back to Houston after the game.  Anyone acting up on the bus trip home will be told to put a lid on it.

Waiver

All non-Texian Army members must sign a standard liability waiver before boarding the bus.

100% Money Back Guarantee

There exists the possibility that after filling a few buses there is not enough demand to justify ordering another bus. At that point we'll look into smaller buses, vans and any other option we can think of to get everyone to Pizza Hut Park.

If for ANY REASON, we are unable to accommodate you, we will refund 100% of your money.

There is no risk involved.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Because we are so close to game day, we cannot accept any cancellations. All Sales are final.

If we cannot accommodate you because we run out of bus space, you will receive a full refund within 24 hours of us knowing.

Limited Space!

Hurry and reserve your spot now! Currently, we have 2 buses reserved. Texian Army will fill at least one of those. We cannot guarantee more buses will be available after those two fill up. The only way to guarantee yourself a seat and ticket is to reserve immediately.

YES! I want a seat on the bus and game ticket to the Dynamo 2010 MLS season opener at Pizza Hut Park!

I understand that:

  • I will get a seat on a charter bus and game ticket package for $60 each.
  • MLS and the Players Union have reached a collective bargaining agreement. This game IS HAPPENING!
  • There's no risk involved. If space on the bus runs out, I get a full refund.
  • I will wear orange and cheer for the Dynamo!

Whether you can make the trip or not, Texian Army wants to meet you. Stop by our pre-game party in the south end of the Robertson Stadium parking lot, support with us in section 231, or join us at Ernie's On Banks for all away games, post-home games, the World Cup, and USMNT games.

“It’s a great feeling to look up in the stands and see a group of Dynamo supporters when we’re on the road. There is no doubt that it gives us a little boost and added energy in a hostile setting. We really appreciate the extra effort our fans make in supporting us away from Robertson Stadium. Playing FC Dallas is always a battle, and it always helps when there’s a sea of orange at Pizza Hut Park.”
